As confidence builds........ I get a lot of great P.D from following blogs. Once my confidence grew a little I started my own blog. It was a leap into the unknown but I have gained so much. I think all educators should build a small list of blogs to follow. start reading. reflecting. sharing and connecting by making comments.
Thanks Patrick, I hope to attend BLC one day, I have always heard others speak highly of the conference.

I remember our conversation last year, and what appealed most to me was the year long PD for those involved in PLP. After years of providing one, two, three hour sessions, this was key, giving people an entire year to explore and grow. It has been a great experience for all of us. I look forward to seeing you at EduCon and sharing more with you.

Robin,

I really enjoyed this post. When we had our conversation last year about what course we were both taking in terms of PD for ourselves this coming year, I remember we discussed both PLP and attending BLC last July. Our district only had money for one of them, and we chose BLC. Looking back now, our return on investment from BLC was actually pretty low; it was a great conference, but what you get out of it as a district depends on the actions of those who attended. Those actions have not been meaningful, I'll admit.

So I look at what you are seeing through PLP as evidenced in these reflections and I see great progress and personal growth and not just in those quoted. Your recognition that growth is going to occur in sessions that don't have time limits is huge. From what I can see here, the idea of the PLP is much bigger than the face-to-face time you all have together.

Looking forward to seeing you at EduCon!
